The other day the girls were antsy and I wanted to get somethings done, so I set up a fort fo them to play in.

Now I have buit forts before but only Margo was old enough and she never seemed that interested.  But this time both Margo and Thelma were taken with it!  Here ia a picture (before it became overrun with toys!)

Let me just say that giggles that come from forts are priceless!

But today I decided it was time for me to get them both to the beach.

Yesterday Matt set up the child seat for the bicycle, and we had taken the girls separately to the beach but not together.   Now I really wish I had somehow taken a picture of this because it must have looked quite comical.  On the way there I put Thelma in the sling and Margo rode in the seat, but it was way too difficult.

First of all the sling was unbearablely hot when riding a bicycle with two girls on it in the Costa Rican sun.  I nearly died!  Also, because I was riding a bike I was leaned forward and Thelma did not enjoy that position at all!  She hollered the entire way.   By the time we arrived I was cooked.  I layed in the sand for about 20 minutes before I began to feel like myself again.  Then the fun began!

And I swear I did not know what she was going to do when I took this picture!

Margo really came to life when she started splashing me with water.  I had no problem getting a smile out of her then!

Finally I decided it was time to start the trek back.  I knew the sling just wouldn’t work this time.

It was time for Margo to ride the bike “tico style.”  If you have spent any amount of time in Costa Rica you will see kids sitting on the body of the bicycle, holding onto the handlebars for balance, while their parents peddle.  And thats what we did all the way home!  At first Margo was frightened but with a promise of a treat she got used to the idea and did it like a true Tica!   I was so proud!  And extremely happy beacuse it was so much easier, although I admit I was pretty much out of comission for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately the girls were not!
